A Two-Day Training and Certification Programme on Introduction to Open Source Library Management Software and KOHA Modules

A two-day training and certification programme on "Introduction to Open Source Library Management Software and KOHA Modules" was organised by the central library, Vidyasagar College for Women on 21st August and 22nd August, 2025. 14 students  joined the programme. Dr. Sukanta Patra, librarian VCFW coordinated the programme. Resource person Moumita Ash, librarian, VCFW. Hands on training was organised at Knowledge Resource Centre, Vidyasagar College for Women.

LIBRARY BEST USER AWARD

The Library Best User Award is given to recognize the exceptional use of library resources for academic purposes and also encourage readers community to read
more books. Asmita Sarkar a 6th Semester student of Department of History, Vidyasagar College for Women has been received the Library Best User Award 2023-2024 and Samata Santra a 4th semester student, Department of Chemistry, Vidyasagar College for Women has been received the Library Best User Award 2024-2025. Principal Madam has given the certificate and prize to Samata Santra on the occasion of National Librarian's Day 2025.

A Lecture cum Debate Competition


Libraries of Vidyasagar College for Women, Vidyasagar College, Vidyasagar Metropolitan College organized a lecture cum Debate Competition on "Google vs Granthagar" in collaboration with IQAC of the college's on 16th December 2024 at Sabhaghar, Vidyasagar College. Prof. Sabuj Kumar Choudhari, Professor Department of Library and Information Science and Coordinator IPR Cell University of Calcutta delivered lecture. 23 students participated debate from three colleges. 














Book Exhibition on Women's Day

 Library organized a Book Exhibition on International Women's Day 2025 at library reading hall. Books on Women's Studies were exhibited from the library's special collection. Students, teachers, staffs and children from local schools visited the exhibition.
